On a lovely day the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival grand parade did not disappoint a bumper crowd on Sunday.
The streets, without the usual traffic through the business centre of town, saw a gathering of an enormous crowd of spectators who revelled in a colourful and fast-moving parade of people, bands, dancing groups, floats, immaculate classic vehicles and great novelty entries.
"From all accounts, the crowd of visitors and local supporters was bigger than ever with many smiling faces enjoying the freedom of being in the streets to see a spectacular parade," said festival secretary Marg Dearricott.
"There were many great entries with almost 1000 people marching and driving in the parade to please the judges and a full list of prize winners will be forthcoming over the next week."
The overall winning float was the Kyneton Agricultural Show's entry advertising the show to take place in November.
The fair in High Street and the Mechanics Reserve following was full of activities and fun for locals and visitors who lingered to soak up the sunshine.
Full results of the festival, parade and the scarecrow competition will appear next week's Midland Express.
