In the last round of games for the season, Kyneton District Soccer Club turned pink for the day in support of breast cancer research.
Hair, socks, match balls, faces, shirts, hair ties, ribbons...everyone that could be pink was. Support from local businesses, club members, friends and opposition teams ensured a successful day.
It all began as a small idea with a target of $500 for breast cancer research but support on the day saw the club raise more than $2600 dollars with a little more expected to be added to the total in the coming week.
On the field it was also a successful day for the day for the club with the Metro Men hanging on in a tight game to win 4 - 3 to Westvale. The Under 12 Girls held third-placed Maribyrnong Swifts to a nil-all draw and by doing so showed they are continuing to improve right throughout the season. The club is looking forward to season 2018.
In the last game of the season, the senior women took on Yarraville Glory coming away with a hard fought 3 - 0 win.
Congratulations to all teams on a great season and thank you to everyone who helped ensure the fundraising day was a complete success.
