Gisborne women's soccer team finished the 2017 State 4 West division in second place, nine points clear of local rivals Kyneton and Castlemaine.

The team completed the whole season losing just two games and produced some impressive performances throughout the season.

The mixture of experienced and young developing players enabled an enjoyable brand of soccer to be played.

In their final game of the season they managed to come from two goals down to draw against Castlemaine.

Gill McDermott scored her 24th goal of a very productive season and Gisborne captain Mel Corvus rounding of a meticulous second half team effort.

The club looks forward to the end of year presentation in a couple of weeks where the whole team's work rate and commitment will be acknowledged.

Looking ahead to the 2018 season Gisborne will be recruiting some experienced players who wish to join an improving, progressive team.
