Kyneton Rangers under 16 soccer team's season and finals campaign ended in dramatic fashion on Saturday.

Several key players were struck down with illness, but with true spirit they turned up to play for each other and the jumper, with all giving their best. Down 3-1 at half-time Kyneton dug deep and leveled scores halfway through the second half. Golden City was on the back foot and put every player in defence, while Kyneton players continually peppered the goals. Kyneton forwards were heavily tackled twice in the penalty box with the decision not going their way. Against the flow of play Bendigo scored with a few minutes to play. Final score Kyneton 3 Golden City 4.

Kyneton Rangers under 16 soccer team have completed an excellent season finishing third on the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League table with eight wins and only losses to the two top Bendigo teams winning three of the last four games by an average of more than eight goals and scored the second most number of goals in the competition (81).
