I write in response to Greg Clark's letter ('Traumatising and inhumane', Opinions, June 6).
Given recent events in London, Manchester and other cities in Europe, and in Australia in Melbourne by a 'refugee', if refugees don't complete their application by October 1 then deport them, they have plenty of time to comply.
The Mr Clarks of this world would place all law-abiding Australians in danger with their open door policy on refugees.
The refugee intake must be now zero - shut the door - and any criminal activity should be met with immediate deportation, no appeals tribunal.
The open door policy in Europe didn't work. We must come down hard on terrorists and have stricter screening of asylum seekers.
We live in a very different world today.
