In what was the closest contest for the round, Harcourt have finally defeated Lexton for the first time ever since the Tigers entered the MCDFNL in 2011.

It was a very exciting match from start to finish and with only a kick separating the teams at each of the intervals, the game was in the balance all day.

The final quarter was goal for goal and a very tense and exciting finish which saw the Lions prevail by just two points in a nail biter, and saw many happy Lions players and supporters as they finally defeated the Tigers after six years of trying.

Talbot v Campbells Creek

Talbot won their second game in succession when they came out on top of Campbells Creek to win by 32 points after a close fought battle.

It took the Hawks until the final quarter before they could shake the persistent Creekers, but the margin could have been greater but for inaccuracy by the Hawks forwards as the 29 scoring shots to 17 would indicate.

Dunolly v Maldon

The match between Dunolly and Maldon at Deledio Reserve on Saturday has seen the Eagles win their first game of the season and this leaves Maldon as the only team that has failed a win a game so far.

There was much hype about this game as former West Coast Eagles star Daniel Kerr suited up for the Dunolly Eagles and while he did not appear among the better players, showed that he still has the ability to produces patches of brilliance.

A first quarter onslaught by the Eagles produced six goals to and set up the victory, but it was far from plain sailing as the remainder of the game was evenly matched with Maldon actually having more shots on goal for the remaining three quarters, but they could not recover from the poor first quarter.

Natte Bealiba v Newstead

Natte Bealiba has scored yet another massive win as the Swans' successful start to 2017 rolled on, courtesy of a 93-point win over Newstead.

While the Roos entered Saturday's clash with Natte on the back of a two-game winning streak, any hopes of making it three victories in a row were quickly dashed in the 20.5 (125) to 4.8 (32) loss.
