Thousands of locals and visitors streamed into Kennedy Street last Friday night to catch a glimpse of the extraordinary action-packed opening of the 2017 Castlemaine State Festival.

Those in attendance were taken on a stunning steampunk themed journey to The Future of Things Past which featured dance, song, carnivalesque, audiovisual and musical performances by acrobats, dancers, robots, beatboxers and brass bands which set the stage alight.
