Eat, laugh, drink, sing!

08 Feb, 2012 06:23 AM
The Olde Glenlyon General Store will this month be hosting ‘Comedy Under the Stars’ - a special event and fundraiser for local fire brigades.

A stellar line-up includes ... the Incomparable Rusty Berther (ex-Scared Weird Little Guys); the Amazing Simon Rogers (TheatreSports maestro, ABC Radio); the Delightful Ross Daniels (Midday Show, Tonight Live etc. etc); the Unbelievable Andrew Good-One (stand-up comedy legend); and the Cute Young C J Fortuna (fantastic comedian and hunk).

Organiser, Simon Rogers invites you to “eat, laugh, drink, sing” and enjoy a combination of stand-up and sketches, a bit of improv, and music from Rusty, all performed on an outdoor stage in the courtyard.

All proceeds will be shared between the Glenlyon and Porcupine Ridge fire brigades.

“I’d be more use to the CFA doing this than being useless on the back of a truck,” Simon says, “It’s much safer being on stage.”

Despite holding the event on Saturday, February 18 - in competition with the Rod Stewart concert at Hanging Rock - Simon hopes the line-up will still draw a crowd.

“We’re hoping to attract a younger crowd than will be going to see the delightful, but ageing, Rod Stewart!” he jokes.

Tickets are $20 a head. Dinner and drinks available. Saturday, February 18, 6-10pm.

Seating is limited so book early. Tickets and bookings with the Glenlyon General Store, 5348 7922.
